From Michaelmas 2020, the University has established a partnership with the Cambridge Eating Disorder Charity, PEDS (Personalised Eating Disorder Support): www.pedsupport.co.uk. Support is available to students, aimed at reaching those at risk of developing an eating disorder. Students can either be referred or can self-refer to PEDS via their online form (https://www.pedsupport.co.uk/contact-us/) and will currently be seen remotely via Skype, Microsoft Teams or Zoom. Once the Student Services Centre reopens support will also be provided face-to-face.

PEDS works collaboratively with College Nurses, the University Counselling Service and Student Support Services. PEDS works as part of a stepped care approach, alongside the local specialist NHS Eating Disorder Service, run by Cambridgeshire & Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) Adult Eating Disorder Service (AEDS).  Where a student meets the criteria for NHS secondary care services ie CPFT Adult Eating Disorder Service (AEDS), PEDS will obtain consent from the student to liaise and refer as required.
